INVITATION, DATE AND SCHEDULE
The invitation will be available February 15. I will send a copy to you and the invitation will also be posted at the middle school and high school sites (middleschooldebate.com and highschooldebate.org). The middle school site is under construction and a new site should be available in about 45 days. In the interim, links to the site will direct you to a page with information on news, championship tournament information, new league development, and summer debate workshops.

LEAGUE ENTRIES
Each eligible established league is permitted to register 7 teams (new leagues have a reduced number of teams in the first league year). Each league may place 3 alternate teams on a waiting list. New leagues in New York and New Jersey may each bring 4 teams to the tournament. Each league determines its procedure for team eligibility to represent the league at the tournament.

A league is eligible to participate at the tournament if each participating league school has paid 2012 annual membership dues to the Middle School Public Debate Program ($50, payable to Claremont McKenna College). In addition, schools participating in leagues administered by the Debate Union (IVDL, RCDL, GSDL, PCDL, and SBDL) must have paid 2012 dues and any past due league fees. All payments are due no later than March 15, 2012.

Leagues may register beginning March 15. Registration is by league president, not individual schools. Registration closes on March 31. Wait-listed schools will receive invitations on April 1. Registration details are included in the invitation.

There is a $50 school fee for all attending institutions. The fee can be paid prior to the event or during tournament registration. Checks are payable to “Claremont McKenna College.”

HOTEL
Information will be available no later than the date for the tournament invitation. There are hotels in and around Claremont at a variety of price ranges.

ON-CAMPUS DINING
There is limited availability for campus dining during the event. Lunch and dinner will be available at Claremont McKenna College’s award-winning Collins Dining Hall for registered students, participating judges, and official coaches (maximum of 2 per school). Meals must be paid in advance of the tournament. No meal tickets will be sold during the tournament. Information on meals registration will be made available in the invitation. The invitation includes dining options at other colleges and near the campus for observers and other guests.

TOPICS
Topics will be announced on March 8.

Please let me know if you have questions. I am looking forward to another outstanding tournament in April.

Best regards,

John
